{"id":61,"date":"2012-11-09T13:26:49","date_gmt":"2012-11-09T18:26:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/cudesktop\/?page_id=61"},"modified":"2019-08-15T12:46:37","modified_gmt":"2019-08-15T16:46:37","slug":"mac-support","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/cudesktop\/mac-support\/","title":{"rendered":"Mac Support"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Installing VMware View Client for Mac &#8211; Instructions<\/h2>\n<p>To begin the installation, run the downloaded dmg file and click <strong>Agree.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/cudesktop\/wp-content\/uploads\/mac-user-agreement.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-100\" title=\"mac user agreement\" src=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/cudesktop\/wp-content\/uploads\/mac-user-agreement-400x309.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"309\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Click and drag the left picture to the file folder picture.\u00a0 This\u00a0 will install the VMware software and locate it in the <strong>Applications<\/strong> folder.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/cudesktop\/wp-content\/uploads\/mac-view-client.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-101\" title=\"mac view client\" src=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/cudesktop\/wp-content\/uploads\/mac-view-client-400x448.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"448\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/cudesktop\/wp-content\/uploads\/mac-applications.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-103\" title=\"mac applications\" src=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/cudesktop\/wp-content\/uploads\/mac-applications-400x313.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"313\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Double click on the <strong>VMware View Client<\/strong> icon in the <strong>Applications<\/strong> folder to launch the viewer.<\/p>\n<p>Click <strong>Add Server<\/strong> and enter <strong>cudesktop.carleton.ca<\/strong> for the hostname.<\/p>\n<p>Click <strong>Continue.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/cudesktop\/wp-content\/uploads\/mac-mydesktop.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-104\" title=\"mac mydesktop\" src=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/cudesktop\/wp-content\/uploads\/mac-mydesktop-400x344.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"344\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The client will attempt to connect and if it can connect you should see the FIPPA login message.\u00a0 If you agree to the terms, click <strong>Continue<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/cudesktop\/wp-content\/uploads\/mac-fippa.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-105\" title=\"mac fippa\" src=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/cudesktop\/wp-content\/uploads\/mac-fippa-400x344.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"344\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Client will then prompt for your CUNET credentials.\u00a0 Enter your MyCarletonOne account username and password and click <strong>Login<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Note: This is the same username and password that you would use to login to a ITS lab computer on campus.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/cudesktop\/wp-content\/uploads\/mac-username-password.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-106\" title=\"mac username password\" src=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/cudesktop\/wp-content\/uploads\/mac-username-password-400x344.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"344\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The software will validate your username and password and then will show you the virtual environments that you have access to.\u00a0 Each Virtual Environment includes specific software.\u00a0 Select the Virtual Environment or \u2018Pool\u2019 you wish to use.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/cudesktop\/wp-content\/uploads\/mac-mydesktop-view-client.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-108\" title=\"mac mydesktop view client\" src=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/cudesktop\/wp-content\/uploads\/mac-mydesktop-view-client-400x344.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"344\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>VMware Client<\/h2>\n<p>After connecting to a Virtual Desktop, you will be able to send a Ctrl + Alt + Del command via the Desktop menu along with the disconnect.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/cudesktop\/wp-content\/uploads\/mac-disconnect.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-109\" title=\"mac disconnect\" src=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/cudesktop\/wp-content\/uploads\/mac-disconnect-400x226.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"226\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Installing VMware View Client for Mac &#8211; Instructions To begin the installation, run the downloaded dmg file and click Agree.
