Dragging and Dropping an Image onto your Course Page

Dragging and dropping an image onto your course page creates a label displaying your image.

To drag and drop an image:

  1. Log in to cuLearn using your MyCarletonOne credentials.
  2. Click on your course link.
  3. Locate the image on your computer.
  4. Click and drag the image onto your cuLearn course page where you want the image to appear.
  5. You will be prompted with the message “What do you want to do with your file?” in a pop-up window.  Select add media to course page.
NOTE: When you select Add media to course page your image will appear directly on your main course page. If you select Create file resource, the image will be displayed as a link on your course page.

  6. Click Upload.

You will now see your image displayed as a label on your course page (see example below)

Adding Audio or Video to a Label

  1. Log in to cuLearn using your MyCarletonOne credentials.
  2. Click on your course link.
  3. Add a label to a topic block on your course page using the Add a resource drop-down menu, or click edit settings to the right of an existing label on your course page.
  4. In the General section, click the add Multimedia icon in the text editor.
  5. In the Insert media pop up window, enter the URL of the media you wish to upload or click Browse repositories to find the required media on your computer.
NOTE: If you click on Browse repositories, choose and upload your media using the File picker. Once your media has been uploaded, a preview of the audio/video title will appear in the pop up window.
  6. If you are satisfied with your media selection, click Insert media.
  7. Click Save and return to course.
NOTE: If you add video (or audio) to a label, it will automatically appear when the user clicks on that course page. This can be beneficial if the video is, for example, an introduction to the course. However, your course may not load as quickly if there are several videos in labels, especially if the videos are from external sites. To prevent this, consider adding a video to a page in cuLearn. This means that the user has to click a text link to reach the video, but it doesn’t clutter up the main course page and is a better option if the course contains a large number of videos.

Adding Links to a Label

  2. Click on your course link.
  3. Add a label to a topic block on your course page using the Add a resource drop-down menu, or click edit settings to the right of an existing label on your course page.
  4. In the General section, click the link icon in the text editor
  5. Enter a url in the Create link pop-up window.
  6. Click Create Link.
  7. Click Save and Return to Course.
