Centralized Accommodation System for TAs and CIs<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Teaching Assistants (TAs) and Contract Instructors (CIs) represented by CUPE4600 (Unit 1 and 2) with a human rights need can request a workplace accommodation via the Centralized Accommodation System.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once an accommodation request has been submitted, the university has a duty to inquire to assess an employee\u2019s human rights needs while employee\u2019s and the union have a duty to cooperate with the university\u2019s accommodation process. Where a human rights need exists, the University is required to provide a reasonable accommodation up to the point of undue hardship. Please note that an employee is entitled to a reasonable accommodation and not necessarily their preferred or ideal accommodation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Office of the Deputy Provost and Human Resources will consult with TAs and CIs and their immediate supervisors to identify a reasonable accommodation that meet an employee\u2019s human rights needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
