Below are a list of your Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about the 2020-2021 Students as Partners Program (SaPP) for students and faculty.
FAQs for Students
- Are there funds still available for this years SaPP?
-
2020-2021 applications are now open. This provides students the opportunity to work with contract instructors to help prep for their Winter 2021 courses. This research internship program equally allocates its funds to each faculty (Engineering and Design, Arts and Social Sciences, Public Affairs, Science and The Sprott School of Business) to be distributed among qualified applications.
- How do I get funded?
-
Teaching and Learning Services will fund the student partner for up to 130 hours of work at $15 per hour (up to a maximum of ($1950 + 4% vacation pay). It is anticipated that the work will be completed within one academic term.
- Are there a maximum number of Students as Partners Program student applications available per faculty member?
-
Yes, faculty members are limited to a maximum of one student applicant per year. Student applicants are limited to a maximum of one project per year.
- If I am currently participating in SaPP, can I still apply?
-
You can apply, however due to limited funding, priority will be given to new partners and projects. It is not guaranteed that all who apply will be accepted.
- Are co-op students eligible to apply?
-
SaPP is offered to current undergraduate students registered in either part-time or full-time courses for the fall/winter terms. Students may not complete a co-op work term and SaPP simultaneously.
- Is this program available to graduate students?
-
No. This program is available to current undergraduate students enrolled in a Carleton undergraduate program.
- What is the Consent to Publish Form and why do I have to sign it?
-
We would like to share your experiences with other students through the Discovery Centre website and social media to encourage them to apply. The form is a formal agreement where you agree to release information such as your name, biography, photos, award details, and course program; this information will be used to promote the SaPP program and Carleton.
