in STEM #StillaProblem"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recently, two psychologists, Wendy Williams &amp; Stephen Ceci published an article in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pnas.org\/content\/early\/2015\/04\/08\/1418878112.abstract\" target=\"_blank\">PNAS<\/a> suggesting not only that the biases against women in STEM disciplines were over, but that the hiring biases that exist today are actually in favour of women. \u00a0Although they also posted the original materials, procedures, and conclusions\u00a0was pulled down, after considerable outcry, a revised version was posted that and can be read <a href=\"http:\/\/www.human.cornell.edu\/hd\/ciws\/upload\/PNASAddt-lResources-Williams-Ceci-2.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Numerous blogs and letters were also submitted critizing the methodologies used, but most strongly the overgeneralization of the findings. \u00a0For an excellent blog reviewing the issue read <a href=\"http:\/\/boundaryvision.com\/2015\/04\/16\/be-careful-saying-the-myth-about-women-in-science-is-solved\/#more-1204\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>. \u00a0Another excellent <a href=\"https:\/\/storify.com\/kejames\/still-a\">blog<\/a> is a wonderful resource as it not provides links to the many other blogs, tweets, and Facebook comments addressing the original
