Nuclear Chemistry, 1950 Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Ph.D. Inorganic (Nuclear) Chemistry 1953 Post Doctoral Research: Kjemisk Institutt, Universitetet i Oslo, Norway 1953-1955 Research Associate, Department of Metallurgy, University of British Columbia, 1955-1959 Department of Chemistry, Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada, 1959 – …. \u00a0 Sabbatical year, 1969 – 1970 Institut fur Heisse Chemie, Karlsruhe, Germany \u00a0 \u00a0 Family Genealogy \u00a0 The Wiles Family starts out in Kleinlinden, near Giessen, Germany, with the earliest identifiable person being Andreas Weigel, born 1510.\u00a0 He was married\u00a0 to Anna Seipp.\u00a0 The family name changed variously through Weygell, until Johann Friedrich Weil was born in 1724, an illegitimate son of Johann Caspar Weigel and Anna Maria Jung.\u00a0 He came to Canada (Halifax) on the Ann, in the summer of 1750, and moved to Lunenburg in 1753.\u00a0 Joshua Enos Wile moved to Truro, Nova Scotia in the mid nineteenth century, and then all but James Albert Wiles move further to the U.S.A.\u00a0 His son was Neil Douglas Wiles, my immediate father. Other branches of the family are McKeen, Vaughan, and Boehner, all of whom are accurately traced at least back to about 1750.\u00a0 Details are available to anyone on request.<\/p>\n
