What worked well?
Alumni office event promotions (via email invitations and ongoing social media promos) resulted in a very high level of interest and registration. Promos were created for the event, and also for the speakers who shared the promos to their networks.
Event Participation was above the typical attendance for similar in-person events.
IMS-CUES support was critical to the professional experience and product, and the overall success of the presentation.
IMS provided:
- technical support (pre, during, and post);
- equipment for staff/presenters (laptops, wifi boosters, microphone);
- editing of the final recording for posting. Very professional final product; and
- post event follow up with all registrants included a link to the event recording. We received positive feedback for this outreach.
What didn’t work well?
There were some wifi connectivity issues with one of the presenters (they were in a rural location that had connection problems). The IMS wifi booster helped but it wasn’t perfect.
Time commitment for one of the presenters was multiple hours – travelling to travel campus twice for (equipment pick up, and drop off post event), participating in a pre-production meeting (about 1. 5 hrs pre event), and then the event itself (about a 2 hr commitment total).Recommendations
Access to a campus location for presenting/recording, with full equipment and tech support, would be a good option for presenters who do not have the proper equipment/wifi access at home. This might also eliminate the need for a pre-production run through days in advance of the event.
CU Branded pop-ups that are light and portable that could be sent to presenters as backdrops (for those who do not have the required computer systems to support virtual backgrounds)Form submitted by
