Biography<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Growing up in Ottawa, Adam chose Carleton University to remain close to friends and family. He originally began his undergraduate degree studying biology and the humanities. However, after discovering a passion for global affairs, he sought to broaden his understanding of the subject by changing his major to economics. Adam was attracted to the diverse range of economics courses taught at the university, especially those concerning international trade and international finance which illustrated the extent the world\u2019s complexity and interconnectedness. Adam also valued the opportunity to conduct economic research in macroeconomics and microeconomics during his final year of undergraduate study. Using real-world macroeconomic data, he examined the relationship between military expenditures and GDP growth in 93 countries. Then using census microdata, Adam investigated how immigrant status affects the income of STEM-educated individuals in Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What will you pursue next?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

I often use the skills I acquired from Carleton\u2019s economic program, such as research and data analysis, in my current student position working for the Government of Canada.
