In order to help Carleton instructors become acquainted with cuLearn, the Educational Development Centre is offering several types of training, including:

Study Hall:

EDC is offering the first cuLearn “Study Hall” this Friday, August 17, 2012 from 9am to noon in Dunton Tower 410. The Study Hall is designed for instructors who received cuLearn training and want to work on their courses in an environment where an educational consultant is available to answer questions and help with course preparation. Instructors are encouraged to use their own laptops. However, EDC has a limited number of macbook air laptops that can be made available for instructors who do not have laptops.

No sign up is required. Come for the whole session or just drop in for some quick help. More sessions will be scheduled based on demand.

cuLearn Overview Presentation:

The focus of this session is a presentation that introduces and provides an overview of cuLearn. The presentation includes a cuLearn demonstration, a comparison between cuLearn and WebCT, and review of various example cuLearn courses. A question and answer session will follow the presentation.

cuLearn Basics Workshop:

The focus of this hands-on workshop are activities to help participants learn cuLearn basics such as adding course content, using communication tools, and setting up a basic grade-book. Participants are encouraged to use their own course content during this workshop. The basics workshops have a maximum capacity of 10 spots.
