First-year students are often brimming with enthusiasm and optimism for their newly embarked post-secondary educations. They are also often intimidated, overwhelmed and underprepared. These students are usually invited into the largest lecture halls with hundreds of their colleagues as their introduction to post-secondary education and specific disciplines.
Head to the EDC on Feb. 9 from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., as Dr. Tonya Davidson (Department of Sociology and Anthropology) shares strategies for turning large lecture halls into welcoming introductions to post-secondary education. She will also discuss some strategies for bridging some of the skill gaps from high school to university.
