Choosing Your Tools: Wise use of Web-conferencing Online

This session will provide an overview of different online teaching options (synchronous and asynchronous) and guidance regarding what tool is right for the job.
Following a panel-style format and subsequent Q & A session, experts on course design and Carleton’s web-conferencing tools (BigBlueButton, Zoom, MS Teams) will give you the necessary details and facts to help you make the right decision on how to deliver your course this summer.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
– decide when is best to use synchronous vs. asynchronous methods of teaching in an online course
– describe the differences among Carleton’s web-conferencing tools
– select the best web-conferencing tool for activities in their courses
Note: this session is planned to run for 1.5 hours. The session facilitator has booked 2 hours for potential overflow or for individual consultation.
