Dialing up. Conversations on Remote Teaching
June 30, 2020 at 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
“Dialing up” is an informal series of conversations between colleagues on remote teaching. Each session lasts about one-hour and will be dedicated to exchanging ideas, asking questions and collectively brainstorming the world of online teaching. Each session will be led by a faculty member on a specific topic.
This session on student engagement, led by Melanie Adrian, will focus on how to connect and engage with students in the remote teaching context. Melanie is teaching a course on religious freedom this fall and is thinking about the types of learning activities – both synchronous and asynchronous – that will meaningfully engage her students. Melanie invites instructors who are thinking about these issues to bring their own questions and proposals to the session.
Melanie Adrian is an Associate Professor of Law at Carleton University where she holds the Carleton University Chair in Teaching Innovation.
Space is limited. Please register in advance by filling out the form below.
