Teaching with PowerPoint

Microsoft PowerPoint is an essential pedagogical tool that encourages student learning. This introductory session provides a hands-on experience for instructors to create more effective PowerPoint slides for classroom and online use. Considering both pedagogical and technological aspects, we will focus on creating more accessible and effective presentations as well as discussing best practices for use.
After this session, you will be able to:
- Design engaging presentations using the principles of layout and cognitive science
- Format slides with appropriate transitions and animations
- Embed links, images, tables and videos into presentations
- Create notes and handouts
Note: Bring your own laptop or we will have Mac laptops available for you to use.
