Welcome to My Brightspace Classroom — with Geoff Pignotta
June 2, 2021 at 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM
Presenter: Geoff Pignotta, Department of Earth Sciences
Welcome to My Online Classroom is a workshop series led by instructors, for instructors, with a specific focus on sharing a wide variety of ideas, strategies, and approaches to teaching online. The sessions will begin with a brief overview from the presenter, and then open for question-and-answer and discussion more broadly. The idea is to create spaces where instructors, regardless of experience, can exchange ideas for teaching online.
This particular session will be led by Dr. Geoff Pignotta, a lab coordinator and contract instructor with the Department of Earth Sciences. In the Winter 2021 term, Geoff taught in the new Learning Management System (LMS), Brightspace, as part of the pilot program. Geoff is a TLS Brightspace Ambassador. In this session, Geoff will be focusing in on his experience building and teaching an entirely new course using the new LMS – what he learned about the system, what worked for him, and lessons learned. If you’re preparing to teach your first course on Brightspace, Geoff’s session will allow you to see how a fellow instructor has used the new system and to ask the questions that you may have.
Space is limited. Please register in advance by filling out the form below.
