Welcome to My Online Classroom – with Marylynn Steckley
June 29, 2021 at 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM
Welcome to My Online Classroom is a workshop series led by instructors, for instructors, with a specific focus on sharing a wide variety of ideas, strategies, and approaches to teaching online. The sessions will begin with a brief overview from the presenter, and then open for question-and-answer and discussion more broadly. The idea is to create spaces where instructors, regardless of experience, can exchange ideas for teaching online.
This particular session will be led by Marylynn Steckley, an Instructor in the Bachelor of Global and International Studies program. This Spring 2021, Marylynn taught a 10-day intensive virtual international experiential learning course on the new Learning Management System (LMS), Brightspace, meaning that she has been actively using and experimenting in the new system these past few months. In this session, Marylynn will focus on her experience building and teaching a course on the new LMS, and she will be sharing what worked for her and what lessons she learned. If you’re preparing to teach your first course on Brightspace, this session will allow you to see how a fellow instructor is currently using the new system and to ask the questions that you may have.
Space is limited. Please register in advance by filling out the form below.
