Welcome to My Online Classroom – with Vivian Solana

Welcome to My Online Classroom is a workshop series led by instructors, for instructors, with a specific focus on sharing a wide variety of ideas, strategies, and approaches to teaching online. The sessions will begin with a brief overview from the presenter, and then open for question-and-answer and discussion more broadly. The idea is to create spaces where instructors, regardless of experience, can exchange ideas for teaching online.

This particular session will be led by Dr. Vivian Solana, an Assistant Professor with the Department of Sociology and Anthropology. Vivian is teaching her first online course this fall and winter (ANTH 2001: Foundations in Socio-Cultural Anthropology), employing a blended approach that requires her students to complete some smaller online lessons asynchronously in advance of synchronous class meetings. In her session, Vivian plans to discuss what’s working in the course and what might need improvement, from both her own and her students’ perspective.

Space is limited. Please register in advance by filling out the form below.
