Zoom for Teaching Online
September 28, 2020 at 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM
Facilitators: Sarah Langridge (EDC), Kim Krezonoski (EDC)
Zoom web-conferencing provides ample opportunities for creating engaging synchronous classes. In this session, we move beyond the basic functionality of Zoom to explore more closely its collaborative features and options for participatory pedagogy. Participants will be invited to take part in the kinds of classroom interactions that Zoom accommodates, such as gathering real-time feedback, small group discussion, and icebreakers.
By the end of this session, participants should be able to:
- Identify tools and features for student engagement in Zoom.
- Conceptualize strategies for interactive online learning in Zoom.
- Create synchronous classroom activities suited for a web-conference environment.
Prerequisites: This workshop is intended for those who have experience using Zoom and/or have attended the Getting Started with Zoom workshop.
Note: This session is planned to run for 1.5 hours. The facilitators have booked 2 hours to accommodate overflow, extended Q&A, and individual consultations.
Space is limited. Please register in advance by filling out the form below.
