Her award-winning research\u2014recognized with the Ontario Early Researcher Award and Inspiration Award for impactful work\u2014examines stress processes in groups historically mistreated or excluded from biological health research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. McQuaid employs a comprehensive approach spanning molecular techniques to community-based participatory research, investigating how sociodemographic, psychosocial, and biological factors interact to influence mental health outcomes. This inclusive methodology ensures her findings address real-world inequities, making her contributions vital to understanding stress-related mental illnesses across diverse populations.For EDIT-STEM, her expertise strengthens the project&#8217;s commitment to equitable research practices and inclusive design. By prioritizing marginalized voices in biological and health sciences, Dr. McQuaid helps develop learning technologies that reflect diverse lived experiences, fostering STEM environments where all students can thrive.
