This theme highlighted the core strength of FDG by bridging the gap between scientific and humanistic approaches to games research. It does this by exploring the dual role of games as both objects of study, and also powerful tools for discovery.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Joey shared his work entitled &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/dl.acm.org\/doi\/10.1145\/3815598.3815676\">Serious Games for Cognitive Bias Mitigation: A Review of Learning Mechanisms and Design Approaches.<\/a>\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Annie shared her work entitled <a href=\"https:\/\/dl.acm.org\/doi\/10.1145\/3815598.3815678\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/dl.acm.org\/doi\/10.1145\/3815598.3815678\">\u201cAddressing Anxiety Through Games: A Review of Therapeutic Design Strategies.\u201d <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both Annie and Joey described their experience at FDG 2026 as a highly positive, fun, and enlightening opportunity to connect with researchers from across the field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the poster sessions, attendees were enthusiastic and receptive to both of their works, leading to meaningful conversations from across the discipline.
