{"id":1698,"date":"2021-11-24T13:05:47","date_gmt":"2021-11-24T18:05:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/eerl\/?page_id=1698"},"modified":"2021-11-25T13:39:37","modified_gmt":"2021-11-25T18:39:37","slug":"boundary-layer-wind-tunnel-laboratory","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/eerl\/boundary-layer-wind-tunnel-laboratory\/","title":{"rendered":"Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel Laboratory"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"s1\">Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel Laboratory<\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">At the Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel Laboratory, In collaboration with The University Of Western Ontario, researchers at the Energy and Emissions research lab are conducting the world\u2019s first systematic experiments to specifically quantify the impacts of turbulent crosswind scale and intensity on emissions from flares. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel Laboratory (BLWTL), located at Western University, is a state-of-the-art experimental facility designed to progress wind tunnel testing and analysis methods, playing an important role in the development of modern day wind engineering since its construction in 1964. The tunnel also proved integral in ensuring the safe and economical construction of civil engineering structures, having a hand in the design of the CN Tower and the Confederation Bridge.
