The Government of British Columbia is embracing measurement-informed methane inventories and using those to develop effective policy and regulations, such as recently amended regulations to ensure the Province\u2019s oil and gas sector reduces methane emissions by 75% below 2014 levels by 2030 and pushes towards the near-elimination of industrial methane emissions by 2035. As part of a comprehensive large-scale multi-year campaign, EERL has worked closely with the BC Government and Energy Regulator to quantify, mitigate, and track methane emissions in BC\u2019s upstream oil and gas industry.<\/p>\n
