His current research focuses on nationalism, authoritarianism, and propaganda in Russia and the post-Soviet space. He is the director of the \u201cRussian Media Observation and Reporting\u201d (RuMOR) project; lead investigator of a SSHRC-funded project \u201cRussia\u2019s Media at War,\u201d which analyzes Russia\u2019s media narratives about the war in Russia and abroad; and co-investigator for the Trans-Atlantic Platform project \u201cDemocracy in Exile,\u201d which examines war-induced migration from Russia.
