Sometimes, despite effective prevention programs, things go wrong, and someone is injured on campus (or while working-off campus).
Does this need to be reported? ABSOLUTELY!
All workplace injuries and illnesses must be reported immediately to the workplace supervisor. The Department of University Safety (ext. 4444) will assist with obtaining first aid.
Once immediate issues have been taken care of, documentation is required. This applies equally to staff, students and visitors to campus.
Reporting is necessary so that we can identify the root causes of the accident that resulted in an injury, and take steps to prevent its recurrence. No Accident = No injury!
