Environmental Health & Safety recently conducted a noise audit of various areas on campus and new signage has been installed at the entrances of identified areas. The new signage indicates the need to wear hearing protection in areas that regularly exceed 85dB. Overexposure to elevated levels of noise can result in temporary or permanent hearing loss. This new signage will allow visitors and others unfamiliar with the areas in question to be aware of the hazard within.

Consult the Hearing Conservation Program Hearing Conservation Program for more information and to find out which areas are affected.
