Fire Prevention Week is October 8th-14th!

Every year in October, we celebrate Fire Prevention Week to bring awareness to the importance of fire safety. This year, the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) has chosen the following theme: “Every Second counts; Plan 2 ways out!”

The Office of Environmental Health & Safety is hosting a Fire Safety display in Residence Commons on October 11th and 12th featuring Ottawa Fire Services! Stop by and try your hand at virtual fire fighting with their fire simulation system!

There are no upcoming events scheduled at this time.

“Spot the Fire Hazard

“Spot the Fire Hazard” with the Office of Environmental Health & Safety for a chance to win! Your task is to identify as many fire hazards as you can in the picture below to be entered into a prize draw. Each fire hazard correctly identified will earn you 1 ballot for the draw taking place on Monday October 16th.

How to play

Stop by the Fire Safety display on October 11th and 12th or email Melanie.Lesieur@carleton.ca with the subject line “Spot the Fire Hazard” with your identified hazards before Friday October 13th at 4pm.  Happy spotting!
