Evolution is a powerful force and bacteria have an upper hand. Bacterial resistance is increasing raising concerns globally. The focus of my research is to develop novel methods aimed at mitigating the problem of antibiotic resistance, either by slowing/preventing the emergence of resistance mutations, by understanding resistance through regulatory networks that control bacterial evolvability, or by reversing resistance once it has arisen.
