BEng with Advanced Standing/Transfer Credits

Advanced Standing or Transfer Credits are credit for courses you have completed prior to being admitted to the BEng degree.
You may be able to use these credits towards your BEng degree requirements. Transfer credits will appear on your Academic Audit, which you can run in Carleton Central, and will be listed as courses complete with TR grades. If you are uncertain if transfer credit has been granted, please should contact your Admissions Officer.

First-year engineering students are usually given a “block schedule”, which is a preselected course schedule – this can be viewed via the ​’Build my Timetable/Registration’ page on Carleton Central.

Students who have been granted credit for courses included in their block schedule first need to contact the First Year Support Team (ECORSupport@carleton.ca) for guidance on how to modify their schedule.

Alternatively, some students choose to complete all courses included in their assigned block despite having transfer credits; this will ensure a firm understanding of the first-year math and science curriculum that is referenced in subsequent courses.
