Description

In this Candid Conversation, you will hear from Gastops’ Pooja Suresh (Director, Research & Innovation) about her experience going from university into the workforce and how she’s set her career up for success. This is a small group setting where back and forth conversation is strongly encouraged.

Who is this for? Women students in a Carleton University Bachelor, Master’s or Doctoral program, of: engineering, IT, applied science, computer science, mathematics, or physics. Current Carleton University women students interested in engineering and IT.

This will be run as a Zoom meeting, where attendees will have the ability to turn their camera and microphone on and type in the chat.

About Gastops

Gastops designs, manufactures and supports advanced equipment health sensing and analysis products, including on-line oil debris sensors, torque measurement sensors, turbine blade health sensors, and at-line wear debris analyzers. Additionally, we offer a wide range of specialized technical and engineering services to assist in the development of equipment control and monitoring systems, and maintenance of mission-critical assets.

Pooja Suresh, Director, Research & Innovation

Pooja Suresh is the Director of Research & Innovation at Gastops in Ottawa. In her current role, she manages the Research department and leads her team on technology advancement programs that serve the long term vision and strategic interests of the business in the aerospace, defence and energy markets. She first started working at Gastops over ten years ago. Her diverse career includes experience in environmental policy for aviation and management consulting. She has a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from Carleton and a masters in aeronautics and astronautics from MIT. As a champion of diversity and inclusion, she has spearheaded programs at Gastops and contributes to several initiatives with the goal of building a network of allies and advancing diversity in leadership in the defence and technology sectors in Ottawa. She is a Women in Engineering ambassador at Carleton and actively volunteers for STEM outreach programs.
