FAQs
1. What happens if I only need to repeat one ECOR 104X course?
a. If you need to repeat one 0.25 credit ECOR 104X course, we strongly recommend you do so during the last offering in the 2025 Summer term.
b. If you do not complete your ECOR 104X courses in the Summer 2025 term, you will need to complete your remaining first-year requirements with the ECOR 103X series starting in the Fall 2025 term.
2. What happens if I need to repeat more than one ECOR 104X course?
a. If you need to repeat multiple 0.25 credit ECOR 104X courses, you can decide whether you prefer to repeat them in Summer 2025 term OR wait until the Fall 2025 term to repeat using the new ECOR 103X courses.
b. If you plan to wait until Fall 2025 to complete your first-year requirements, this will delay your progress to second-year courses until the Winter 2026 term and may require that you register in Summer 2026 term courses. Please contact ECORSupport@carleton.ca for an off-pattern course plan.
3. Is there a minimum grade required in the Summer 2025 term?
a. Yes; the C- minimum grade requirement will still be required to achieve 2nd year status in Engineering.
4. How does the material taught in the ECOR 103X courses differ from the ECOR 104X courses?
a. The new ECOR 103X courses contain similar curriculum as the ECOR 104X do, as listed in the table above.

a. No; lab exemptions in engineering courses are not permitted.
7. If I repeat my ECOR 104X requirements with ECOR 103X courses, do I still need to earn a final grade of C- (C minus) or higher?
