Advising sessions are recommended to:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>discuss your academic performance in courses,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>make changes to your registration (dropping or adding courses),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>review <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/engineering-design\/current-students\/undergrad-academic-support\/understandingprereq\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">prerequisites<\/a> needed to progress to second year,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>discuss <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/academicadvising\/reduced-course-load\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reduced course load options<\/a>, or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>learn strategies or seek support for managing the first-year engineering workload.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"how-to-book-an-academic-advising-session\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Book an Academic Advising Session<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Academic advising sessions for first-year engineering students are booked using the link below. <br>30-minute advising sessions are available Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons \u2013 all sessions are virtual via MS Teams.<br><em>You will receive a confirmation of your booked session via email that includes the link to join your scheduled advising session.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When booking an advising session, please ensure you enter accurate student number (CUID) <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">and<\/span> your @cmail.carleton.ca email address to complete your booking. Login using Carleton (cmail) credentials is required to access this advising session booking page.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-content-justification-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-buttons-is-layout-16018d1d wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/outlook.office.com\/owa\/calendar\/FirstYearEngineeringAcademicAdvising@cmail.carleton.ca\/bookings\/\">BOOK A VIRTUAL ADVISING SESSION<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Please ensure that you are <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/its\/teams\/students\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">logged in to MS Teams using your Carleton credentials<\/a> 5 minutes before your advising session begins.
