\n Engineering Design Centre\n <\/h1>\n \n <\/header>\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n \n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n

The Engineering Design Centre (EDC) is a space for engineering and design students to collaborate on projects through design rooms, workshop bays, and  maker spaces. There are also lounge spaces for individual work. The building is unlocked Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm, not including statutory holidays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n Design Rooms\n <\/h2>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n \n\n

The design rooms are open-concept spaces for engineering and design students to collaborate on projects, host meetings, and more. The furniture in the rooms (tables, chairs, white boards, and mobile tv displays) can be moved and reconfigured based on the students\u2019 desired layout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All undergraduate students in an engineering or design program at Carleton have swipe card access to the design rooms. When the design rooms are not booked, students are encouraged to use the space to study or have ad-hoc meetings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n Maker Spaces\n <\/h2>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n \n\n

The maker spaces are machine shops for engineering students to access vital equipment. The spaces are managed and operated by technicians and staff who will help students use CNC mills, lathes, laser cutters, welders, high-resolution resin and FDM printers, 3D scanners and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n Workshop Bays\n <\/h2>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n \n\n

Workshop bays are assigned spaces for Capstone projects and year-round student club work (like Ravens Racing). To access a workshop bay, students must be affiliated with the team assigned to the bay and complete mandatory Environmental Health and Safety training plus LabSafety.
