\n Carleton\u2019s Peter Xiaoping Liu Named a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering\n <\/h1>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

Carleton University\u2019s Peter Xiaoping Liu, professor in the research-intensive Faculty of Engineering and Design with the Department of Systems and Computer Engineering, was named a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering<\/a> (CAE) on June 5, 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Members of the CAE are nominated and elected by their peers to honorary fellowships, in view of their distinguished achievements and career-long service to the engineering profession. Fellows of the CAE are committed to ensuring that Canada\u2019s engineering expertise is applied to the benefit of all Canadians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professor Peter Xiaoping Liu<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is a great privilege to be inducted as a CAE Fellow,\u201d said Liu. \u201cOver the past two decades at Carleton, I have had the best opportunity to perform research on different projects with the goal to enhance healthcare delivery and patient outcomes. It has been a joy to see the tangible impact of my research.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CAE\u2019s selection process is a highly competitive one, spanning the entire country and involving all engineering disciplines. Professor Liu held a Tier-2 Canada Research Chair in Interactive Network Computing and Tele-Operation and has actively contributed to IEEE technical societies throughout his career. He currently has over 470 peer-refereed publications, which has led to numerous citations from other researchers from across the world. Professor Liu is a Fellow of both the Engineering Institute of Canada<\/a> (EIC) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers<\/a> (IEEE).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CAE is the national institution through which Canada\u2019s most distinguished and experienced engineers provide strategic advice on matters of critical importance to Canada. The CAE is an independent, self-governing and non-profit organization established in 1987.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
