Carleton University\u2019s Master of Engineering Practice (EP) is a full-time, course-based graduate program designed to advance technical engineering knowledge and strengthen professional skills. With a particular focus on internationally trained engineers who completed their undergraduate studies outside the Canadian Accreditation System, EP builds on prior academic experience while supporting a successful transition into engineering careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EP is designed to provide BEng graduates from recognized post-secondary institutions around the world with a high-quality educational experience that combines advanced engineering coursework with complementary studies focused on enhancing employment-oriented professional skills. In addition to its structured academic curriculum, EP offers a co-op pathway that allows students to gain paid, full-time work experience in professional engineering environments, applying their learning in real-world settings while building connections in the Canadian workforce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Completed over 18-36 months (3\u20136 terms), EP equips graduates with the knowledge, confidence, and adaptability to pursue meaningful career opportunities in Canada and around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Engineering Practice program offers a comprehensive curriculum that integrates four categories of courses: (i) discipline-specific engineering courses within one of the program\u2019s four streams; (ii) mandatory complementary courses; (iii) complementary elective courses; and (iv) co-op courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Compulsory and elective complementary courses emphasize key professional competencies such as project management, engineering economics, and engineering communication, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
