Prof. Don Beecher has three new publications just off the press. The first is a new edition and translation (with Massimo Ciavolella) of selected tales from The Decameron by the inimitable Giovanni Boccaccio (Broadview Press). The second, an edited collection (with James Nelson Novoa), Seeing the Turks after Lepanto: Visions of the Ottomans and Islam in Spain and Italy, is published by Routledge. The third, which Prof. Beecher edited and translated from Italian with Massimo Ciavolella, is a dual language edition of the 1532 play The Deceived, by the Intronati of Siena (Italica Press). This remarkable play is the source for Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night through the prose fiction version by Barnabe Riche.
