In her new book, Mary Wollstonecraft Against Modernity<\/a>, Professor Julie Murray exposes Western feminism\u2019s internal contradictions. Published in June by Stanford University Press, Murray’s study recovers a Wollstonecraft who feels uncertain about the progressive\u00a0modernity she is otherwise entirely identified with as champion and cheerleader. Revealing that feminism and global modernity have been at odds for over two hundred years, Murray reclaims Wollstonecraft as an astute critic of Western feminism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
