We believe the best science occurs when people from varied backgrounds come together to solve problems. This means we want a diverse team built from different lived experiences and identities\u2014including yours!<\/p>\n<p>Undergraduates can join the lab through the <a href=\"https:\/\/calendar.carleton.ca\/undergrad\/undergradprograms\/chemistry\/\">Chemistry<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/biochem\/current-students\/undergraduate\/honours-thesis\/\">Biochemistry<\/a> Honours program, the <a href=\"https:\/\/science.carleton.ca\/students\/undergraduate-resources\/undergraduate-research-awards-program\/\">NSERC USRA<\/a> program, or internships supported through <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/tls\/teaching-learning-and-pedagogy\/experiential-learning\/i-cureus\/\">I-CUREUS<\/a>\u00a0at Carleton. Graduate students interested in joining the lab must be accepted into the Chemistry M.Sc. or Ph.D. programs at Carleton, with the option to specialize in <a href=\"https:\/\/graduate.carleton.ca\/cu-programs\/biochemistry-collaborative-masters-phd\/\">Biochemistry<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/chemistry\/prospective-students\/graduate\/chemical-environmental-toxicology\/\">Chemical and Environmental Toxicology.<\/a><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h2>Open positions<\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Microbial plastic cycling in wetlands<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>We are recruiting <strong>M.Sc. and Ph.D. students<\/strong> to lead a research collaboration with <strong>Environment and Climate Change Canada\u00a0<\/strong>that examines how microbes affect the fate of microplastics in wetlands.
