The time at which evaluation takes place depends on the program of study. Students will automatically be notified via their Carleton email account if they are permitted to continue.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Co-op Admission and Continuation Requirements for Students in the Bachelor of Science<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For admission to and continuation in the co-op option, all students must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain full-time status in each study term (2.0 credits);<\/li>\n<li>Be eligible to work in Canada (for off-campus work)<\/li>\n<li>Have successfully completed <span class=\"sc_courseinline\"><a class=\"bubblelink code\" title=\"COOP&nbsp;1000\" href=\"https:\/\/calendar.carleton.ca\/search\/?P=COOP 1000\">COOP&nbsp;1000<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Program-Specific Admission and Continuation Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applied Physics, Biochemistry (including computational), Bioinformatics, Biology (including computational), Biotechnology, Chemistry (including computational), Earth Sciences, Environmental Science, Neuroscience, and Physics:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Completion of 5.0 or more credits at Carleton University;<\/li>\n<li>Registered as a full-time student in the Bachelor of Science Honours degree program;<\/li>\n<li>Obtained and maintained a major CGPA of 8.0 or higher and an overall CGPA of 6.50 or higher<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>These requirements establish eligibility to enter the program. However, enrollment in the Co-op Option is limited and depends on the prevailing job market. Application for admission to the Co-op Option is through the Co-op Office web-site (<a href=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/co-op\/\">http:\/\/carleton.ca\/co-op\/)<\/a> and should be submitted before November 1, March 1, or July 1, for May, September, or January work terms respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"work-study-sequence\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Work-Study Sequence<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There are three four-month work terms. Students will register consecutively in Co-operative Work term reports 1, 2, and 3. This option carries a half-course credit towards the degree and consists of unpaid&nbsp;work experience in an external agency setting dealing with environmental issues.
