{"id":336,"date":"2021-01-02T23:04:02","date_gmt":"2021-01-03T04:04:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/eptl\/?post_type=cu-people&#038;p=336"},"modified":"2022-11-25T17:13:03","modified_gmt":"2022-11-25T22:13:03","slug":"336","status":"publish","type":"cu-people","link":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/eptl\/people\/336\/","title":{"rendered":"Mo Adib"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mo Adib is a PhD student in <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/mae\/\">Mechanical Engineering<\/a> program at <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/\">Carleton University<\/a>.\u00a0 He received his B.Sc (2013) and M.Sc (2016) degrees from <a href=\"https:\/\/aut.ac.ir\/\">Amirkabir University of Technology<\/a> (AUT) focusing on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) methods for multiphase flows. After graduation, he joined a research group in <a href=\"https:\/\/aut.ac.ir\/content\/197\/Mechanical-Engineering\">Mechanical Engineering Department<\/a> of AUT and studied particle-laden flows. He collaborated with <a href=\"https:\/\/iransys.ir\/\">Shabihsazan Sharif (IRANSYS)<\/a> on the integration of phase change material in solar collectors and heat transfer enhancement effect of aluminum oxide nanoparticles. Moving towards his passion for programming, he got the hang of web-development technologies, consolidated his knowledge in several free-lance projects, and worked as front-end web developer at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.digikala.com\/\">Digikala Group<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Fluid flow, heat transfer, and phase change have been the dominant themes of his research. He started with the fundamental study of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0096300315300230\">incompressible flow in a helical annulus<\/a>. For his master\u2019s thesis, he conducted a series of simulations and measurements to track <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0307904X18302415\">the air-water interface<\/a> in the jet impingement configuration, which provided important insights on the shape and oscillation of water cavity. He was part of the team effort to prove <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0301932217306420\">the superiority of continuous random walk (CRW) models<\/a> for description of dispersion effect in particle-laden swirling flows. He has also worked on thermal regulation of photovoltaic panels, insulation of storage tanks, and droplet generation in microfluidic devices.
