My work consisted of soot modeling in counterflow diffusion flames and shock tubes. I researched papers where I could learn about the soot and see the importance of this project to real life applications. The soot modeling was interesting to see the utilizations of the code and being able to see how reactors could be replicated by code. I did however have some troubleshooting problems. This allowed me to figure out how to deal with this problem and learn from it for future problems. The results collected from the model were organized into excel spreadsheets. These results were compared to experimental results discussed in some of the papers that I researched. There were weekly seminars which presented me the opportunity to get insight on others projects and the possibility that their work could help assist with my project. This summer was a great opportunity for me where I got to work with many amazing people.
