SUMMARY:New Adventures, New Paths: Telling Our Stories - Book Launch
DESCRIPTION:New Adventures, New Paths: Telling Our Stories is an exciting collaboration between The Department of Equity and Inclusive Communities and the Carleton University Ravens. New Adventures, New Paths asked male varsity athletes to write stories to help younger boys build emotional intelligence and connectedness. The project used this storytelling format to challenge problematic elements of masculinity and empower young men to recognize their potential as positive changemakers through literary arts.  



Over the course of 15 hours of writing retreats and story labs, the athletes worked with a multidisciplinary team of professional storytellers, athletes and feminist advocates to create emotionally-driven narratives for younger men in our community.  



Now, we’re ready to share these stories with the community at our New Adventures, New Paths Book Launch.



Join us for a special author showcase featuring Nelson Cilien (Men’s Basketball), Louis Zhang (Men’s Nordic Skiing) and AJ Osman (Men’s Basketball) who will read from their work, share their experiences and connect with attendees during the book signing.
