Here are a few ways you might consider taking action against racism:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Interrupt offensive jokes or stories and say you don\u2019t want to hear them.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Speak up when you witness discrimination against others.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Offer support to the victim. Listen carefully and respect confidentiality.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Speak up or seek help when you experience discrimination. Recognize that some situations are best addressed publicly and others privately.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Become involved and work with others. Anti-racism is everyone\u2019s responsibility.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Encourage work and study environments to be places where diversity is valued.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Discuss issues of inclusion and diversity with children, youth, and adults.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Educate yourself about human rights.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be aware of how your actions might intentionally or unintentionally affect others.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Think critically about the language that you use.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be sensitive to other\u2019s feelings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Question the validity of generalized statements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to promote awareness, celebrate racial and ethnocultural diversity, and address issues of racial discrimination and harassment, Equity Services provides proactive education and training.
