On September 16, Carleton will partner with post-secondary campuses across Ontario to stand with survivors and send an important message: when a survivor discloses, we start by believing. Through interactive activities, students will explore self-love, self-care and community healing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: This is a closed event for Black women and gender-diverse Carleton students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em class=\"myprefix-text-italic\">Space is limited.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">_______________________________________________________________<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"thursday-september-18-2025\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2025<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Trauma Informed Yoga Series (Staff and Faculty Only)<br><\/strong>Time: 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.<br>Location: 270-272-274&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/campus\/buildings\/teraanga-commons\/\">Teraanga Commons<\/a><br>Register:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/healthy-workplace\/cu-event\/trauma-informed-yoga\/\">https:\/\/carleton.ca\/healthy-workplace\/cu-event\/trauma-informed-yoga\/&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Register for a trauma-informed yoga session led by Olivia Gilmer-Chekosky. This is an all-level yoga class taught from a trauma-sensitive lens, allowing participants choice and agency over their bodies and practice. This class is suited for all levels of yogis and will offer variations to best suit everyone\u2019s personal yoga practice. Light refreshments and yoga mats will be provided. Feel free to bring your personal yoga mat if you prefer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: This session is open to all Carleton staff and faculty and is organized by the Department of Equity and Inclusive Communities and the Office of Quality Initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Facilitator: Olivia Gilmer-Chekosky is a 200 hour RYT, certified in Yoga Nidra &amp; Trauma-informed Yoga. Olivia has been practicing yoga for over 17 years and believes that it should be accessible to all. She teaches from a trauma-informed lens, also bringing in knowledge she gained from being a clinical Social Worker working in mental health and trauma. Olivia\u2019s experience and training in nervous system regulation, mental health and somatics allows her to bring a unique understanding of how the body can heal through movement. Olivia also believes in creating a safe(r) space for her students to develop their own relationship to Self and to the world around them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Take Back The Night<br><\/strong>Time: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.<br>Location: Minto Park\/Ottawa City Hall<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Take Back the Night (TBTN) is an annual rally and march against sexual and gender-based violence. The community comes together to celebrate, support and empower survivors, while creating safer communities and healthier relationships through awareness, activism and advocacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TBTN Ottawa will start with a rally in Minto Park (102 Lewis St) at 6 p.m. The march will start at 6:45 through downtown Ottawa and end at City Hall for refreshments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">_______________________________________________________________<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"friday-september-19-2025\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2025<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DIY &amp; Vibe: Tote Bag Night<br><\/strong>Time: 3:30 to 5 p.m.<br>Location:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/conferenceservices.carleton.ca\/fenn-lounge\/\">Fenn Lounge<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This event for Residence Students will be a drop-in event held in Fenn Lounge.
