\n Sexual Assault Awareness Week\n <\/h1>\n \n <\/header>\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n \n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n

Sexual Assault Awareness Week aims to educate and raise awareness about the impacts of sexual violence on campus while fostering a community of care for survivors. Departments across campus collaborate to ensure this week is meaningful by creating events and spaces that prioritize survivors and demonstrate their commitment to preventing sexual violence.<\/p>\n

Our mission is to foster a culture of consent within the Carleton community and strengthen support for survivors. Preventing sexual violence is a long-term effort. We remain dedicated to prioritizing this work until we achieve a world free from sexual and gender-based violence.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s artwork reflects our mission with the bell hooks quote “Healing is an Act of Communion”<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cHealing is something that must be done together, something that cannot happen in isolation. This idea connects to companion planting and thriving ecosystems, and the ways certain plants grow better alongside one another, such as strawberries, nasturtiums, and wild roses. How pollinators like bees, moths, and butterflies rely on and support these plants in a symbiotic relationship of survival\u201d. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Cozy Up Self-Care<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

When: Monday January 26, 12 to 2 p.m.
Location: MacOdrum Library,  252B
Hosted by: The Wellness Team in collaboration with the Department of Equity and Inclusive Communities<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Learn about resources to support your wellness, participate in fun mindfulness activities and take a moment to decompress in a relaxing environment. Free warm beverages are available. Registration is not required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Survivor Support Groups<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

When: Tuesday, January 27, 3 to 5 p.m. 
Location: 3800 CTTC
Registration: Survivor Support Groups – Winter 2026<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Join CUSASC for an 8-week closed peer support group for survivors of sexual violence. Support groups will offer a safe and supportive space to share, listen, and heal together. Student will help choose discussion topics in the first session, with weekly snacks and a care package provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THURSDAY JANUARY 29, 2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Safety Planning 101<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

When: Thursday, January 29, 1 to 2 p.m.
Location: 3800 CTTC<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Safety planning is about identifying supports, emotional strategies and practical tools to increase a sense of safety and well-being. Join CUSASC and CSS to learn more about what safety planning can look like in a trauma-informed and non-judgmental space. Open to survivors, supporters and anyone seeking tools. Limited space and refreshments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When: Friday, January 30, 3:30 to 5 p.m.
