In alignment with the OHRC and AODA, Carleton strives to provide an equitable and inclusive environment where all community members are treated with dignity and worth. In accordance with this legislation, the University also has a legal obligation to ensure accessibility across its goods, services, facilities, accommodation, employment and physical spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">Carleton University\u2019s Coordinated Accessibility Strategy<\/strong> (CAS) serves as a framework to guide accessibility initiatives across the university and establishes objectives and strategic actions towards strengthening accessibility and inclusion at Carleton. The University monitors and reports regularly on the implementation of the Coordinated Accessibility Strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"purpose\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Purpose <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This Policy outlines accessibility\u2011related responsibilities at Carleton to ensure the University meets the requirements of Ontario accessibility legislation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Carleton aims to foster a climate of understanding and mutual respect, recognizing the dignity and worth of every community member so that all individuals feel included and able to contribute fully to the University\u2019s development and well\u2011being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"consultation-timelines\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Consultation Timelines<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">April to June 2026:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Email and online consultations with student unions\/groups, as well as staff and faculty unions and groups. <em class=\"myprefix-text-italic\">The consultation period is now complete. <\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">July to August 2026:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Gather and review feedback, incorporate into revised policy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\">September 2026:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Present revised policy to the Senior Management Policy Committee for approval.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please review the updated policy documents and provide your feedback.
