Syed Naqvi
Dr. Syed H. R. Naqvi has 18+ years of multi-disciplinary and cross-disciplinary research, teaching and project management experience in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. Dr. Naqvi is currently serving as Project Manager in Ericsson 5G Wireless Lab at Carleton University, Ottawa Canada.
He is specialized in telecom with proven experience and knowledge of 5G NR design and implementation including physical layer protocol algorithm design, interference mitigation in modern wired and wireless technologies, power and resource allocation, beamforming, millimeter wave massive MIMO for 5G NR, front hauling architectures for 5G NR, AI and ML based power & resource optimization in 5G NR, digital signal processing algorithm design and implementation, integrated access back-haul (IAB), hybrid beamforming, 3GPP standards, etc.
He was involved in several collaborative industrial research projects as principal investigator after completion of his Ph.D. with distinction from the Politecnico di Milano, Italy in 2016.
Dr. Naqvi hold two patents and is the author of several renowned journals and conferences publications including IEEE JSAC, IEEE Magazine, IEEE System Journal, and IEEE JCN. He is the reviewer of top-rated IEEE journals and conferences and received exemplary reviewer award from IEEE Transaction on Communication in 2018. Dr. Naqvi also participated as third party RF Engineer and Project Manager in commercial deployment of 5G in Canada by TELUS and ROGERS.
