\n Ericsson-Carleton Mobile Wireless Lab\n <\/h1>\n \n \n \n\n

The Ericsson-Carleton Mobile Wireless Lab in Carleton\u2019s Advanced Research and Innovation in Smart Environments (ARISE) building enhances the educational experience for students by focusing on student-centred project research and innovation programs. <\/p>\n\n\n <\/header>\n\n <\/div>\n\n

<\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n

This active R&D 5G Lab <\/strong>is unique as there is an Ericsson Indoor 5G RDS network inside the building to develop, test and optimize state-of-the-art 3-D localization solutions, techniques and algorithms, a first in Canada. No other lab in Canada currently exists where graduate students and researchers have access to a private, standalone 5G network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The laboratory will enhance the educational experience for students at Carleton by means of focusing on student-centred project research and innovation programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, Carleton and Ericsson have developed a joint training program for researchers and information technology personnel on campus, enabling the effective management of the 5G lab,<\/strong> a first on campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Launched in September of 2022, the lab supports both the work of the Ericsson Chair and designated research projects.<\/p>\n\n\n \n

\n 5G Drone Laboratory \n <\/h2>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n \n\n

Housed within the Ericsson-Carleton Mobile Wireless Lab, 5G Drone Lab researchers are using a 5G wireless network to control drones remotely to advance solutions for real-world challenges, from delivering packages to exploring environments unsafe to humans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n Collaboration Space\n <\/h2>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n \n\n

The ARISE building is a 71,000-square-foot space for partnership and entrepreneurship opportunities at Carleton University. The facility is home to applied research in clean technology, health technology and information and communication technology. <\/p>\n\n\n <\/div>\n\n

<\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n

ARISE brings together professors and students from our five faculties\u2014Science, Engineering and Design, Sprott School of Business, Public Affairs and Arts and Social Sciences \u2014 to collaborate on research and training in areas such as 5G wireless, smart cities and data analytics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ARISE is a living laboratory that allows students to obtain marketable skills and become entrepreneurs through early-stage commercialization development and facilitating interactions with partners of all sizes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
