Fees and deregistration info

Are you receiving scary messages about fee payment?

If the Student Accounts office hasn’t received your fall term fees by September 30th, you may be deregistered from classes. Here’s how to avoid that:

  1. If your OSAP or student loan funding is delayed, reach out to the Awards office to see what you can do. You can talk to Awards in person at 315 Robertson Hall, email awards@carleton.ca or call 613-520-3600.
  2. If you have money coming in, but are experiencing a delay, talk to the Student Accounts office about it. If you can provide documentation, they may be able to grant you an extension: 301 Robertson Hall or 613-520-3626.

Need a hand navigating any of this? Please don’t hesitate to ask us esp.advising@carleton.ca or book an appointment.

Financial support

Look into these financial supports if you’re low on funds:

  • Apply for a bursary. Bursaries are awards made based on financial need rather than grades or other criteria. Unlike loans, you don’t have to pay them back. If you can demonstrate financial need, you may be eligible for an award (often between $500-$1500). See the Awards office website for information about how to apply and for more info: carleton.ca/awards/bursaries/.  Come in for a Coaching appointment for help completing an application. The deadline to apply is October 31st.
  • Order a food hamper through the student food centre: run by CUSA
