For this reason, we ask you to submit an application including a form, two letters of reference from teachers, a personal statement and an application fee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You cannot apply to ESP through the Ontario University Application Centre. Instead, please apply below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The application for Winter 2026 has now closed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note that International students may only apply for Fall Admissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"application-deadline\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Application Deadline<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The application for Winter admissions has now passed. For information on Winter 2027 admissions, please check back in September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"minimum-criteria\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a id=\"criteria\"><\/a>Minimum criteria<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Click <a href=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/esp\/prospective-students\/esp-application-2\/#requirements\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a> to learn more about the minimum requirements to be considered for admission to the ESP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"admission\"><a name=\"admission\"><\/a>Admission to a B.A. after ESP<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Students in our Winter program can earn up to 1.5 credits (because they are enrolling in 3 half-credit courses and two non-credit workshops). ESP students (unless they qualify as <a href=\"#mature\">mature applicants<\/a>) must complete at least 2.0 credits before being admitted to a degree program. For more details, consult our <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/esp\/esp-to-degree\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ESP to Degree<\/a> page under the heading &#8220;Students that Started ESP in the Winter Term&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This means that you will be continuing ESP in the&nbsp;subsequent Summer or Fall\/Winter terms before entering a degree program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will qualify for degree admission once you have met one of the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>After successful completion of 2.0 credits, you may be admitted to a B.A. program with a B average (8.0 on <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/academicadvising\/cgpas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Carleton\u2019s 12 point scale<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After successful completion of 2.5 credits, you may be admitted to a B.A. program with a B- average (7.0 on <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/academicadvising\/cgpas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Carleton\u2019s 12 point scale<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After successful completion of 3.0 credits, you may be admitted to a B.A. program with a C+ average (6.0 on <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/academicadvising\/cgpas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Carleton\u2019s 12 point scale<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After successful completion of 4.0 or more credits, you may be admitted to a B.A. program as long as you would be in <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/registrar\/progress\/ape\/good-standing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">good standing<\/a> (normally C- range on <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/academicadvising\/cgpas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Carleton\u2019s 12 point scale<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Students who meet the criteria above are eligible for admission to most of Carleton\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/admissions.carleton.ca\/programs\/arts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bachelor of Arts Programs<\/a>. Some B.A. programs may require a higher average, or have prerequisite subjects for high school (e.g. BA Biology, B. Economics).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a name=\"mature\"><\/a>Mature students may qualify for admission to a B.A. program after having completed a minimum of 1.0 credit with at least a C- or better standing in the first attempt, provided they meet the university&#8217;s formal definition of a &#8220;Mature&#8221; applicant, that is they:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>have not attended a college or university as full-time student;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>have been away from full-time studies for at least two calendar years;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>do not meet the normal admission requirements (as published in the Undergraduate Calendar);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>have completed any required prerequisite subject (for example: applicants to a B.
