class=\"wp-block-heading\">Summer Welcome Program<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One of our ESP academic coaches will contact you by phone or email to book a one-on-one appointment to get you oriented and ask questions about ESP and being a university student. Summer coaching goes from Wednesday, July 30th &#8211; Thursday, August 28th. Appointments will be 45-60 minutes where the coach will answer your questions and take you through essential tools for a smooth entry into Carleton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This includes navigating the online learning system, Brightspace, ensuring your CU email is set up, accessing lecture videos, how to use ESP resources, finding classes, funding\/OSAP, and other necessary details. We highly recommend the Summer Welcome visits, as the coach will make sure you are ready to participate in Academic Orientation Day on September 2nd, and succeed in the year ahead!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have any questions, you can email <a href=\"mailto:academiccoaching@carleton.ca\">Academic Coaching.<\/a>&nbsp;This compulsory appointment will be essential for helping you get a great start to your academic year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"optional-campus-tour\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Optional Campus Tour<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>These are hosted by Carleton\u2019s undergraduate recruitment office, are led by a Carleton student, and includes free parking on campus. See the <a href=\"https:\/\/admissions.carleton.ca\/campustours\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Campus Tour website<\/a> for details and to register.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"orientation\"><a id=\"orientation\"><\/a>Orientation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Carleton hosts a number of Orientation options: <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/seo\/orientation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">carleton.ca\/orientation <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/fallorientation\/programs\/#CRS\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Fall:<\/strong><\/a> Your \u201cfrosh\u201d experience. This <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/fallorientation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">week long program<\/a> costs $140 +HST. Last year\u2019s activities included a variety of games and sports, parties, a hypnotist show, movie night, and concert. Information about Fall orientation for 2025 will be updated on Carleton&#8217;s orientation website in late June.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/pmc\/registering-with-pmc\/pmc-orientation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>PMC Orientation<\/strong><\/a><strong>: <\/strong>for students with disabilities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/isso\/new-students\/i-start-orientation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>International students<\/strong><\/a><strong>: <\/strong>for students new to Canada<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Note: ESP is part of the Faculty of Arts &amp; Social Sciences &#8211; FASS &#8211; even if you&#8217;re in an ESP science or engineering stream. As an ESP student you can attend Orientation activities for FASS students and Centralized Fall Orientation activities.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The only <em>required<\/em> Orientation activity is <strong>Academic Orientation Day<\/strong>, which is taking place on<strong> Tuesday September 2, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Academic Orientation Day is <strong>free<\/strong> and <strong>mandatory<\/strong> for all new students. The day includes an orientation session geared to introducing you to your studies in the Enriched Support Program and concludes with Expo Carleton where you can learn about clubs, societies and services on campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Below is the schedule for Academic Orientation Day 2025.
