your <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/registration\/registration-steps\/step-3\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"http:\/\/central.carleton.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">schedule<\/a> to view your timetable. In the meantime, read below for more information to prepare for the<strong class=\"myprefix-text-bold\"> first day of classes on September 9th, 2026. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li id=\"fees\"><a href=\"#fees\">Fee Payment<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#withdrawal\">Withdrawing<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#SummerPrep\">Summer Prep<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#orientation\">Student Orientation<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"fees\">Fee Payment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"how-do-i-pay-my-fees\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">How do I pay my fees?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once ESP has registered you in courses (approx. 5-7 days after you submit your Course Selection Form), login to <a href=\"https:\/\/central.carleton.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Carleton Central<\/a> to confirm fees and payment methods. The deadline for each semester&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/studentaccounts\/fee-payment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>fee payments<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;are as followed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Fall: <\/strong>August 25, 2026.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Winter: <\/strong>November 25, 2026.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Ensure payment for your fees is processed to your account by these deadlines to avoid <a href=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/studentaccounts\/tuition-fees\/late-charges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">late<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/studentaccounts\/tuition-fees\/interest-charges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">interest<\/a>&nbsp;charge penalties. Detailed payment information can be found on the <a href=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/fees\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Student Accounts<\/a> website. As well, while many prefer to pay the entire academic year up-front, you do have an option to pay by term, provided that your payments are received by the associated deadlines,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you will be receiving funding from a Government Student Aid Program such as OSAP, you may be eligible to&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\/studentaccounts\/fee-payment\/payment-schedule\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">defer<\/a> fee payment beyond the August 25th payment deadline (to September 11th for the Fall and January 13th for the Winter).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please contact our Student Accounts office if you have any concerns about meeting the payment deadline: 613-520-3626 or <a href=\"mailto:student_accounts@carleton.ca\">student_accounts@carleton.ca<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"how-can-i-check-my-balance\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">How can I check my balance?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You may check your balance online via <a href=\"http:\/\/central.carleton.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Carleton Central<\/a> once you are registered in courses. Click on \u201cCalculate Amount to Pay\u201d from the \u201cRegistration\u201d menu. The \u2018Total Amount to Pay\u2019 amount is your account balance. The \u2018Minimum Amount to Pay\u2019 amount is the balance for your fall term (if electing to pay by term).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a title=\"ESP\/AESP Fees\" href=\"http:\/\/www.carleton.ca\/esp\/costs-and-funding\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Click here <\/a>for ESP tuition and workshop costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"withdrawal\"><a id=\"withdrawal\"><\/a>Program or Course Withdrawal<b><\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"before-september-30\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Before September 30&nbsp;<b>&nbsp;<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>After you submit the <em>Course Selection Form<\/em> and we add your courses, you will be charged tuition and workshop fees. If you must withdraw, you must contact the ESP office as soon as you have made the decision to withdraw in order to cancel tuition and workshop fees at <a href=\"mailto:esp@carleton.ca\">esp@carleton.ca<\/a> or 613-520-2804.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"after-september-30\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">After September 30<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>After September 30th, you cannot receive a refund of your fall term fees, though if you withdraw between October 1st and January 31st, you will be eligible for a refund of winter term fees. In order to withdraw from courses, you must contact an <a href=\"mailto:esp.advising@carleton.ca\">ESP Student Advisor<\/a>&nbsp;no later than 4:00 p.m. on the drop-date. You will not be able to withdraw from courses on-line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you need to withdraw from a course during the year, please note the following deadlines:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><b>September 30, 2026: <\/b>Last day to withdraw from full fall term and fall\/winter courses and receive a refund of fees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><b>November 15, 2026: <\/b>Last day to withdraw from full fall courses (no refund of fall term fees if you withdraw after September 30th).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><b>January 31, 2027: <\/b>Last day to withdraw from full winter courses and receive a refund of fees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><b>March 15, 2027:<\/b> Last day to withdraw from full winter courses (no refund of winter term fees if you withdraw after January 31st).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"SummerPrep\">Summer Welcome Program<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One of our ESP academic coaches will contact you by phone or email to book a one-on-one appointment to get you oriented and ask questions about ESP and being a university student. Summer coaching goes from Wednesday, July 30th &#8211; Thursday, August 28th. Appointments will be 45-60 minutes where the coach will answer your questions and take you through essential tools for a smooth entry into Carleton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This includes navigating the online learning system, Brightspace, ensuring your CU email is set up, accessing lecture videos, how to use ESP resources, finding classes, funding\/OSAP, and other necessary details. A blend of lectures, readings, and workshops will teach students evidence-based strategies for success in university, with an emphasis on how to develop strong academic skills and habits.
