Her research advocates for a nationally mandated comprehensive sexual education system in Canada. Framed through children\u2019s rights, LGBTQ+ rights, public health ethics, and relational ethics, her work argues that rights to health, safety, and expression provide strong justification for a standardized national curriculum. Her previous research explored consent and ethical sex through the lens of BDSM, reflecting her broader interest in the complexities of intimacy, communication, and care. You will rarely find her without a coffee in hand.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":527,"featured_media":1465,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"cu_people_first_name":"Tyra","cu_people_last_name":"Thompson","cu_people_initials":"TT","footnotes":"","_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"cu_people_type":[24],"cu_people_expertise":[],"class_list":["post-1464","cu_people","type-cu_people","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","cu_people_type-phd-student"],"acf":{"cu_people_job_title":"PhD Candidate","cu_people_degree":"MA in Philosophy (Carleton University)","cu_building":"PA","cu_people_office_num":"","cu_people_pronoun":"","cu_people_designation":"","cu_people_email":"TyThompson@cmail.carleton.ca","cu_people_phone":"","cu_people_phone_ext":"","cu_people_linkedin":"","cu_people_bluesky":"","cu_people_twitter":"","cu_people_instagram":"","cu_people_facebook":"","cu_people_website":"","cu_people_orcid":""},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ethics\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/cu_people\/1464","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ethics\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/cu_people"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ethics\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/cu_people"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ethics\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/527"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ethics\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/cu_people\/1464\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":1466,"href":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ethics\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/cu_people\/1464\/revisions\/1466"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ethics\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/1465"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ethics\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=1464"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"cu_people_type","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ethics\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/cu_people_type?post=1464"},{"taxonomy":"cu_people_expertise","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ethics\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/cu_people_expertise?post=1464"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
